eSuite v172.0

Below are the product development updates within this release. Should you wish to get a live demonstration of any of the functionality, please contact your Account Manager.

The eSuite platform has been updated to version v172.0.

Subscribe with Google

eSuite now supports the ability for users to purchase via Subscribe with Google. Subscribe with Google (SwG) is a payment mechanism that enables customers to purchase a recurring subscription across news sites using their Google account and associated payment methods. The initiative is currently only available to a limited set of news sites, and similar to in-app purchasing, additional fees may apply for use of the service.

Apple Pay

eSuite now supports the ability for users to purchase via Apple Pay. Apple Pay provides an easy and secure way for users to buy goods and services, and make donations via iOS app, watchOS app, or on a website. Users can authorize payments using Face ID or Touch ID, or by double-clicking the side button of Apple Watch to release tokenized credit and debit card payment credentials that are securely stored on their device, an in turn, activate subscriptions & entitlements stored in eSuite.

Google Play

Google are due to deprecate the V2 Google Play Developer API version on the 1st December 2019. As such Google advise all users of the Google Play Developer API to migrate to the latest V3 version. eSuite have updated the default version used for the Subscriptions and In-App Purchases API to the latest V3 version, and this will be automatically applied upon release of 172 of eSuite.

Clients should review this link from Google for more information and also consider if any Google App changes are also required in line with the above API version deprecation.
